Loren Covarrubias, senior pastor of Mt. Zion Church, began his journey in full-time ministry in the late 1970s. As a young man in his mid-twenties, he had a heart for God’s people and a word from the Lord calling him to establish a church. With the advent of a new ministry at hand, the prophetic word came to Loren through several key leaders, calling him to the ministry of Elisha, which speaks of a double portion anointing. Furthermore, he was called as one who would be a “voice in a time of God’s visitation.”
Energized by these words, Loren moved forward with great diligence and dedication to “guard the seed” of the word. Within a few years of establishing the church, exponential growth was evident. Multitudes of people flocked to the house of God to hear a word of life and freedom. Almost 40 years has passed since then, and Loren has remained committed to the original vision and purpose for which he was called.
In recent years, the word of the Lord came to Loren again and said, “Tell my people that this is a new day, but if they are going to walk in this new day, they must open their minds and hearts to be changed and transformed by My Word.” Since that time, accelerated change has been evident in Loren’s ministry. Expansion in media and international outreach has reached new heights, and concurrently, Loren is stepping into his calling as a prophet to the nations.
Loren is married to his wife and ministry partner, Bonnie.
