It’s time for a “New Awakening”! The nations of the world are in turmoil and we the church need to respond as the solution. Isaiah 59:19 says, “…When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.” The enemy is certainly coming in like a flood and now it is time for the standard to be lifted. The word “standard” speaks of a banner or flag. It is a symbol by which we can rally together and go forth in victory.
This is why I am declaring the word of the “New Awakening” to the body of Christ. I believe it is a call to the church to be awakened that we might stand up and respond to the word of the Lord. Ephesians 5:14 says, “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” How can a sleeping dead person do anything?
It starts with a prophetic declaration!
Can These Bones Live?
One day, the Spirit of the Lord took the prophet Ezekiel to a valley of dry bones. The Spirit of the Lord asked him, “Can these bones live, Ezekiel?” His response was doubtful of the event, but also filled with faith in God. In Ezekiel 37:3, he responded, “Oh Lord God, You know.”
We all know God can do anything, but the question we all have is will He? When the prophet began to speak the word of the Lord, the bones came together, received renewal, and ultimately came to life as an exceeding great army. The life-giving word has been spoken, but God is looking for people willing to respond to the word by faith. If we will do our part, God will certainly do His part!
We’ve All Experienced Testing and Trials!
Many Christians in the world have been through intense testing and trials recently. It has certainly been a time of stress throughout the nations of the world. Our human response is to say, “I need a rest! Give me some time to recover!” Many are sitting in the “ashes” of their circumstances and looking to God to do something. This is what happened to Job after his intense trials. He was at the end of himself and felt like he had nothing to offer and nothing to say (see Job 40:3-4). God did not join Job’s pity party. His response was one of expectation for Job to go to a higher level in Him.
“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: 7 “Now prepare yourself like a man;” (Job 40:6 NKJV)
It was time for Job to get off his “ashes” and move into the level of the double blessing. We need to know that now is the time God is looking for His sons to come forth. The double blessing can’t go to the baby Christian. The double portion – the portion of the firstborn – can only go to those who have been made ready. The question you may be asking is, “How could I be ready when I have been through so much conflict?”
You must have faith to know that God has been in your struggle. It was not to destroy you, but to form you! Maybe you made choices that brought shame, but according to Isaiah 61:7, God’s promise is double honor. Will you hear His call to arise from your ashes as His standard in the earth?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
